Eye Rock

Hello Ladies,

I’ve been meaning to write about this product for a few weeks now but hadn’t managed to get around to it.  I recently took part in a focus group for Rock Cosmetics.  They were looking for people to take part on Twitter, and as I love their Nail Rock nail wraps I thought why not?  I thought the test would be for nail wraps.

I was sent a package which contained Eye Rock eye tattoos along with a covering letter.  I was emailed a questionnaire and was asked to complete it by the end of the week.

I wasn’t sure of the pattern as it wasn’t something I would personally choose to wear myself, but thought if I were going to a festival, the floral pattern would look brilliant.

So I scanned the instructions and started on my first eye…what a fail.  The tattoos basically work like the tattoos you got with gum as kids; you press it against your skin, wet the back and it transfers.   My problem was that I forgot to remove the plastic protective cover, so my first tattoo simply transferred to the plastic cover.  I re-read the instructions and applied the second one correctly.  The instructions do state that you can cut the tattoo to fit your eye shape, but as I have quite large eyes I didn’t bother.

Please excuse the unkempt brows!!!

Your skin needs to be clean and oil free before applying, therefore I didn’t have any other makeup on at the time and they therefore looked very OTT on my naked face.  The tattoos initially felt very tight on my eye, and a little strange.  This sensation settled after about 30 minutes.  The packaging states that the tattoos can last up to 16 hours, however I rubbed my eye and the transfer started to come off.  I had them on about 2 hours in total.  I think in a hot club, where you may get a little sweaty, the transfers may fade and come off.

I thought they looked pretty funky, and think it is a great concept, however, I wasn’t overly keen after trying them.  I think if I’d had a more simple pattern I may have preferred them.

What do you think?  Have any of you tried them?
