I raved about my MAC studio sculpt foundation a couple of months ago, but decided I fancied a change, and at that, a change away from MAC. My foundation wasn’t really lasting all day at work and I was looking very shiny on my forehead by the afternoon, despite wearing powder.
I decided to try Clinique as I’d recently been very impressed with their chubby sticks and a friend at work loves their foundation. I popped in at lunch time and I got an appointment for after work. The advisor asked me a series of questions such as how my skin felt and what I wanted from a foundation- coverage of redness, imperfections etc. I gave my answers and she far me the number 2, meaning that any foundation with a number 2 against it would suit my skin type, not to be confused with colour.
She then gave me two types to try on my skin, one had shimmer particles as I thought it would be too much for day to day wear, I therefore opted for the second choice which still had the shimmer, but far less of it. The foundation I chose is called ‘Even Better’ which is said to even and correct and contains SPF 15.
Then came the colour choice. She provided me with three, I picked the middle one and tried a swatch on my face. I wasn’t sure so I asked to try the lighter colour and it looked much better, which she agreed with. I therefore chose number 04 ‘cream chamois’.
This was two weeks ago and I have been wearing my foundation every day since. I found the formula very light, the first time I used it with my just cleaned MAC duo fibre brush, it just seemed to disappear! I put another layer on and I got the coverage I desired. I set it with my usual MAC powder which I did a video about here.. By late afternoon I was left looking as though I didn’t have any makeup on. The next day I applied more product and it definitely lasted longer. I tried using my fingers instead of the brush but I really didn’t like the results.

When I’m wearing this foundation I don’t feel as though I am caked in product which I really like. This is probably one of the lightest formula’s I’ve ever used and I’m really liking it so far.
I found that the best thing to keep my foundation in place has been to use a couple of sprays of Urban Decay’s All Nighter and it lasts for ages. (I will be doing a review of this product later this week).
My skin also seems to approve of the new foundation which is a benefit- my skin seems less red.
I’d definitely recommend Clinique and in particular this foundation for someone looking for a light foundation that leaves your skin looking radiant. I’d also recommend that you use a brush to apply or it simply goes nowhere.

I have been using Chanel matte lumiere and as mush as I love it, it can feel a little cakey especially for work. This looks like a fab alternative! Xx

Thanks Lauren. Yes it's good but I'm still not 100% satisfied. X
