Louboutins- finally!

Hello Ladies,

As mentioned in my previous post (here) I spent last weekend in Leeds. My ‘sole’ intention for spending a day shopping was to purchase a pair of Louboutins. I have coveted these shoes for years as mentioned in a previous post here and have been in two minds as to whether or not shoes are really worth the money.  My mum has also told me not to buy them and her opinion matters a lot to me.

So mum and I headed to Harvey Nichols and I picked out four pairs which I wanted to try, sadly they didn’t have any of them in a size 4! I was devastated. I literally had the cash to blow but couldn’t. The lovely assistant Louis suggested that he bring every pair he had in a size 4 for me to try.  Some were too old lady, some looked like Transvestite shoes (so termed by my mother) which were the glitter Daffodils. I was left with a couple of choices. I liked them. But I didn’t love them. I think when you’re spending that amount of money you really have to love them.

Anyway, I asked Louis if they had any of the spiked shoes in a 4, they didn’t. But they had a 4.5. I tried them on a instantly fell in love. Surprisingly they fitted better than the size 4s which had been a little big. They were £300 more than the next best, so I text my boyfriend and best friend. Sophie thought my second choice were OK but said the Lady Spikes were unreal. Andrew basically told me shoes aren’t worth £825.  So I put the Lady Peeps behind the counter and headed to my favourite BCBGmaxmara and tried on a dress. The assistant Amy went and got the shoes for me and when I seen them on with a dress I had to have them.  My mum also told me thy were fabulous- something which I didn’t expect to hear.

So after several years of coveting these iconic shoes I finally bought them. I know this is a hell of a lot of money to spend on shoes, but I’ve previously spent it on handbags so what’s the difference?  I’ve also been working full time since September and this has been my first extreme purchase (which I think is pretty good).

I must confess that the majority of the shoes I tried on were not comfortable. I put this down to the fact that I don’t have even sloping toes- my first three are the same length. I had heard that the shoes weren’t comfortable and to be honest why would you spend £500 on shoes that hurt in the shop?  The Lady Peep Spikes were comfortable and didn’t hurt, another justification for the price.
I’d previously blogged about a pair I tried on in May when I was purchasing a dress which were £2,395 (here); now that is stupid in my book! But if you have that kind of cash to blow- why not?
Have any of you coveted something for years and finally purchased? I hope you like my new shoes!

I think that is an amazing pair! If I eyeing something that I like, I just go ahead and purchase them, I never wait that long… BUT, I never eyeing anything that pricey…. And a Louboutin will MOST DEFINITELY get ruined in the streets of Bali, or any pavement, or anywhere in Bali… soo…. yeah…. 😉

So gorgeous! They will go with anything too. Its your money, you earned it, spend it how and when you like, these are an investment not just another pair of shoes. If I didn't have a 2yr old to take all my money I would have a closet full. Oh well only another 16yrs or a lottery win to wait for 😛 x

Nicest Louboutins I've ever seen! I would love a pair but I don't think I could ever physically hand over that much money for a pair of shoes…maybe someone will buy me a pair one day so I wouldnt have to feel guilty about it. 🙂
