January Empties

I decided to jump on the bandwagon and start featuring my empties as often as possible, hopefully once a month.  My blog is 3 years old next month, and I’ve never actually done one of these posts – how bad is that!?  Keeping a load of empty packaging seemed a little alien, so I’ve bough a cute little storage box from Next which you can see in the background.

Ultrabland (Lush)- I adore Ultrabland.  For me, it is the perfect cleanser and I now recommend it to everyone, I have a friend who has recently started using it and is now converted.  It is great for removing all traces of makeup and dirt and leaves my skin feeling clean, yet moisturised at the same time.  I have combination skin, and anything too strong will leave my skin feeling tight and parched, Ultrabland is the complete opposite.  I have written a full review here.  Once you have collected 5 empty tubs, you can return them to Lush in return for a fresh face mask.  I have repurchased this product 3 times now, and it is quickly becoming one of those products which I start to panic about when the pot is almost empty!

So White Shower Gel (Lush) – I got this shower gel in my Lush Sales Haul which I posted here.  I loved the idea that I would smell of apples, as it is one of my favourite scents.  This was a very light shower gel, and the consistency was very watery.  I personally prefer something a bit thicker and luxurious for the shower, so I wouldn’t re-purchae this.  It is a limited edition Christmas product, so if it sounds up your street, I’m afraid you’ll have to wait until next year!

Fresh Eye Make Up Remover (Garnier) – I love the packaging of this eye makeup remover, which is also a good size.  It did what it said on the bottle; removed eye makeup.  I will only use a product like this if my eye makeup is very heavy, and therefore I want to use something prior to going in with my Ultrabland and face cloth.  The product was gentle to my eyes, and I didn’t end up with stinging like some products result in.  Would I repurchase? Probably not.

Eau Thermale: Thermal Spring Water (Avene)- I bought a lot of the Avene range when I had a skin flare up a couple of years ago.  I actually found this in the bathroom, went to use it, and realised it is empty.  If you have a reaction, this spray is perfect for taking the heat out of your face, I felt it immediately cooled the skin and the itch would subside.  I don’t think I’d use this product everyday, but would definitely recommend it to anyone who is suffering from a reaction.  I’d most likely pick this up on my next trip to Boots, so I have a backup ‘just in case’.  I wrote a post a couple of years ago about the Avene range, which you can visit here.

Vitamin E Moisture Cream (The Body Shop) – I love this moisturiser!  This is my a firm favourite in my morning skincare regime, and I now wouldn’t be without it.  It is a very light cream, so perfect for under makeup.  My skin really likes it and I love the fresh scent.  Since trying this moisturiser, I’ve bought some other products in the range, which I will be posting full reviews on soon.  I’d definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a great morning moisturiser that is light and refreshing.  For an evening, this isn’t rich enough for me, unless I pair it with the Vitamin E face oil.

Brownborder Technakohl Liner (MAC) – This is my all time favourite eyeliner.  It is a rich brown colour, which I find more flattering than black.  It is super soft and easy to use.  The product winds up, so there is no need for sharpening.  I have re-purchased the eyeliner, and I will do again and again I’m sure.  I think it suits my blue eyes, and I wear this almost every single day.  You can use it lightly for a day time look, or apply a little more and smoke it out with some brown shadow for the perfect evening look.

So, there you have it, my first empties post.  I hope you liked it, if you did please let me know and I will make sure they are a regular feature on my blog.
