Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water – Review

Garnier-Micellar-Water

I’m rather late to the party in terms of Micellar Waters, they’ve been adored by makeup artists and beauty bloggers for years, yet I’ve never purchased any of the famous Micellar Waters. If you don’t know what a Micellar Water is, it is a water based cleanser that contains micelles, which Garnier claims acts like a magnet to remove dirt and makeup from your skin. I was under the impression that this was just another toner type product, rather than a product that would sufficiently cleanse my skin alone.

As with all the products I review, I’ve been using this for around 6 weeks now. First of all, I’ve not even used half of the product and I’ve been using it morning and night, which is definitely a positive. Garnier’s Micellar Cleansing Water is also incredibly cheap, priced at £4.19 in Boots, and currently on offer for £2.79, for 400ml, which Garnier equates to 200 uses.

Now before I go much further, I must confess, that up until 6 weeks ago, I was not partaking in a morning cleanse, bbloggers please don’t shout at me!! I was simply using a splash of water to clean my face on a morning. I’d had a lot of breakouts and realised I had to up my game. I’ve since been using this every morning and my skin looks so much better. The breakouts have ceased, and my makeup lasts a lot longer, shock – who would have thought it!

On an evening, I’ve been using this differently depending on the amount of makeup I’ve been wearing. If I’ve not had any foundation on, I’ve used this alone as a single cleanse. If I have been using foundation, then I will first cleanse with my beloved Lush Ultrabland, then swiped this over my face using a cotton pad as a second cleanse. I was actually surprised how much dirt remained on my skin, as I thought I was removing it all this a hot cloth and Ultrabland!

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water is extremely gentle; I don’t get the ‘tight’ feeling you sometimes experience post cleanse. It’s hypoallergenic and contains no perfume, so for those of you with delicate skin, I’d definitely recommend it.

I wish I’d tried Micellar Waters before, as I now think I’m a complete convert. I can’t compare this to another Micellar Water as I’ve not used any others, but this is so cheap and readily available, that I doubt I will try any others.

I highly recommend this product and think it is something you should all have in your bathroom, I’ve even got my mum using it now!

Have you tried the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water? Do you like it as much as I do?
