Ladbrokes #LetsGlow Bingo

A few weeks ago, an invite landed into my inbox to a ‘Secret Blogger Event’, it all sounded very exciting and I accepted straight away. I eagerly awaited the arrival of the invitation in the post, and even got out of bed early to collect it when I missed the postman! A black envelope contained a black piece of card and a UV pen, which showed up the time and location of the event, with more details on the underside. We were invited to Ladbrokes #LetsGlow Bingo.

If I’m honest, I wasn’t sure what to make of bingo, as it’s only something I’ve played at a retirement home, with one of my elderly neighbours years ago and the bingo playing stereotype being that of a lady of a certain age. Nevertheless, I thought why not, and sent my RSVP.

I am so pleased that I went. We arrived at 6pm at The Belgrave Music Hall, and made our way upstairs. We were greeted by India, who presented each of us with 4 drinks tokens each and invited us in. We entered a darkened room, with UV lights shining, lighting up confetti on the floor, mason jars filled with tonic water (who knew this glows under UV!?) and made our way into the back room, where the bar was located. We had a good old chinwag, before I decided to be the daring person who went first to have her face painted, as soon as the other bloggers saw how talented the lady offering face painting was, she soon had a queue, it just shows; it only takes one.

After more chatting and drinking, we were invited to play our first game, the first being a practice, given that many of the girls had never played bingo before. We then played a real high stakes game, with Lush products on offer for the lady who got one line, Soap & Glory products on offer for the lady who got two lines, and 1 of 3 large gifts for the lucky lady who got a full house including a Betty’s hamper, Pandora Jewellery and an Olivia Burton watch.
Unfortunately I didn’t win anything myself, but had a brilliant evening. All the bloggers said what an amazing time they’d had. I’d definitely be up for a game of bingo and a few drinks with my girlfriends again.
Ladbrokes have also put a post together on the evening, which you can read here. I just want to say thank you to them and Sense PR for a fabulous evening.
Have any of you enjoyed a game of bingo?
