Finding My Confidence Again With Fashion
At 16 I lived in the latest trends. If it was on trend I bought it. As I got older it was a new outfit for every Saturday evening out on the town, and I was lazy during the week, in terms of clothes.
I’ve definitely lost my confidence with fashion and I think that is due to my body changing considerably. I was painfully thin as a teenager and into my early 20’s; a side effect of my debilitating panic disorder. When I met Andrew, my panic disorder became manageable and I became happier. I’ve put on weight and increased 3 dress sizes. I’m well aware that I’m still slim, but I don’t think I learned how to dress my new figure. Instead of following fashion over the last few years, I’ve invested in designer shoes and designer bags.
You’d be hard pressed to find me in anything other than low slung or mid rise black skinny jeans. Especially midweek. To be honest I’m sick of seeing myself in them. When WearAll asked me to collaborate on a post, I decided to push myself out of my comfort zone and paired high waisted jeans, in wine (not black!) with a bodysuit. I didn’t think I’d be able to pull off the outfit, but I’m not ashamed to say, I think I did. I also adore the camel waterfall coat; it is such a classic piece that I can wear year after year.
If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll see I’ve been slowly moving to posting only fashion content. This is something I intend to continue doing. I also plan on bringing more fashion to my blog, so keep checking in. Do you ever feel like you’re in a rut with clothes? Have you also lost confidence? I’d love to hear any tips you have.
