I’d like to use this blog post to introduce you to something very special in my life; about 8 inches tall, black and tan and the best present I’ve ever had…no I’m not talking about a Louis Vuitton, I’m talking about my Louis, my two year old Chihuahua.
I got Louis for my 21st Birthday, having begged for years for another dog after my King Charles Spaniel sadly had to be put to sleep.
We wanted a dog rather than a bitch, and he was the only dog in the litter, he was the size of a hamster and my mum thought he’d never survive. When we took him for his first injection, he was so scared, he passed out. He just went limp in my arms and I thought he was dead! After some oxygen and a heat up he was fine.

Most people look at Chihuahuas and think they are yappy little rats of leads; this is not true. Louis is intelligent and the most loving dog I’ve ever met. He melts the heart of everyone he meets – including men. My dad is now nicknamed Paris as he doesn’t let Louis walk – he carries him around with him all day every day. My mum is usually strict with dogs, but finds it so hard to say no to my little man. I refer to mum as ‘granny’ and if I tell Louis to go get his granny, he runs to my mum (much to her displeasure).

He is very spoiled and high maintenance. He won’t drink water (unless I have a glass; he often sticks his head in it), so we found he would drink tea…he likes milk, one sugar, preferably just warm. We had to change his diet as he has such a sensitive tummy, and thankfully he has filled out, his coat is gleaming and he has a lot more energy.

He really is my favourite thing in the world, I love him so much, he brightens every dull day, and has me wrapped around his little paw! I think I’m the crazy dog lady…

Omg! That pic of him asleep on your chest is too cute! I have a yorkie called Macho and it sounds crazy but I feel like he's my child lol he sleeps in bed with me and my hubby (my hubby isn't happy about it) and he likes me to spoon him lol I probably sound like a total nutter but I just love him so much!
