Friday Favourites Week 2 – Catrine

Friday Favourites
Week 2 – Catrine
Hello Ladies, this is week two of my Friday Favourites and I’d like to introduce you to the gorgeous and talented Catrine from Unnaked Nails.  As the blog nail suggests, Catrine loves her nails.  This girl is seriously talented, and if it wasn’t for her blog reminding me to pay attention to my own nails, they’d be constantly naked.  I chose Catrine as she is a blogger who I love for her talent, as well as the way she writes.  I love to see what her latest creations are and see if there is something I can recreate. Catrine varies her blog and therefore it isn’t just focused on nails, there are product review and tips as well as FOTD posts.

What is your favourite beauty product & why?

Elemis Skin Nourishing Milk Bath… such a versatile product, can be used as a cleanser, in the bath as a water softener, directly onto the skin as a moisturiser, it can be used to apply on areas of skin which are ‘playing up’.  It’s uses are endless!  I use it as after sun on holiday and have even used it to treat prickly heat too!

What is your favourite scent & why?

I have so many perfumes and also guy’s fragrances I don’t know where to start.  During the day I often wear Prada for Men, it’s a clean smell and I like it lots!  I like scents which are heavy and musky; with notes of vetiver and sandalwood, hence why I buy guy fragrances for myself!  My fav evening fragrance is Black Orchid by Tom Ford.

Who is your beauty icon?

I have many women who I admire for their beauty and I am a great believer that beauty comes from within.  The first person who comes to mind is Doris Day; she’s very girl next door and has spent a large amount of her life focusing on animal welfare.  I think beauty comes first and foremost from the person you are and there are a number of celebrities who are indeed beautiful, however, how much of their beauty is natural?  How much of it as been ‘made’?  How much is it down to a good PR team?

Can you share a beauty secret with us?

I layer body lotions for extra soft skin.  I’m a lil obsessive about moisturiser; I use lightest one first then richer.  For example a milk lotion followed by a butter.  Or an oil followed by a cream.  I do this only when I have time really but my skin thanks me for it!

What beauty advice would you give to your younger self if you went back in time?

Trust your instincts… you have them for a reason.
If you could create a beauty product, what would it do?

If I could create a beauty product it would be similar to Emma Hardie’s Moringa Balm.  I like multitasking products and you can use this balm to take off tough mascara to use on cuticles, ends of hair and even in my case eczema on my feet!
