I was very fortunate to receive some MAC gift vouchers for my birthday in May, which I hadn’t had a chance to spend. I decided to wait until I was going somewhere or until I found something I just had to have instead of wasting them on simply enhancing my current collection.
As I recently posted, Andy and I went to the races and I thought this was the perfect excuse to buy some new products. I decided to buy some new eyeshadows. I always wear brown to create a smokey eye look as I think it is more flattering than black, so I opted for a new brown and a pink/mauve colour which was the same colour as the dress I’d be wearing. The two eyeshadows I bought were: Jest in Frost and Satin Taupe in Frost. When wearing them I added some Brown Down to the outer corners and crease to darken the look. I must say these two shadows have quickly become two of my favourites and I’ve been wearing them at every opportunity since I bought them. I really love the colours.
I also bought a lipstick, I had wanted the limited edition Cut A Caper but unfortunately it had also sold out at my local MAC. I asked the sales advisor if she could recommend a dupe, and she initially suggested Costa Chic, but this doesn’t have the Sheen that Cut A Caper does. I then noticed Blossom Culture in Sheen Supreme and I have to say it is a really great dupe. I love the colour and I am waiting for an opportunity to wear it.
|Believe it or not, these really are pictures of the same lipstick!|
I was a bit annoyed that MAC have upped the price of their lipsticks to £14.00 but everything costs more now doesn’t it…were any of you lucky enough to get your hands on Cut A Caper?
