Chanel Candeur – The perfect sheer lipstick?

Hello Ladies,

Apologies for my lack of blogging recently, I know I’ve gone from posting every single day to one or two posts per week.  I moved offices with work recently and my commute has increased meaning the amount of spare time I have has reduced. Anyway, I am making a conscious effort to make additional time for my blog and to read all your wonderful posts too.

A couple of months ago my mum treated me to a Chanel lipstick.  She was buying herself one and I’d picked out a gorgeous nude colour, the sales advisor suggested another colour which I preferred and is the one I decided to go for.  I haven’t previously used Chanel lipsticks and personally think £24.00 for a lipstick is ridiculous and wouldn’t buy a lipstick at the price myself; I buy too many to justify that price.

The Lipstick I went for was Rouge Coco Shine in number 68 ‘Candeur’, which is described as a Hydrating Sheer Lipstick.  I’d say that this lipstick is exactly what it says on the packaging.  As someone with dry lips I tend to avoid anything matte so the consistency of this lipstick is perfect for me.  It is very moisturising and looks more like a light lipgloss that a lipstick.  The colour is barely noticeable; you can see it more from the swatch than when actually applied to my lips.

I think this lipstick is perfect for everyday wear, especially if you work in an office and don’t like to wear bright colours; I personally wouldn’t feel comfortable going to work wearing my Mac Full Speed, no matter how much I love it.  I have found that I need to reapply this lipstick regularly, which I guess can be expected due to how sheer the texture is.

I’d like to try more Chanel lipsticks, however, I think I could have found something similar for a lot less money.  I think the colour warrants the ‘perfect sheer lipstick’ label, but for the price I wouldn’t go that far.

My favourite thing about the product is probably the packaging, the black and gold of Chanel will always be a classic and is instantly recognisable.
