June is Lobster Month

This weekend, Andrew had been on a Stag so my parents came to visit. I booked a table at The Chevin in Menston (Leeds), which dates back to the 18th Century, with breathtakingly beautiful views over the Wharfe Valley. They have specials on most nights of the week, and for the month of June, lobster was on the menu.

I wore my new boots and t-shirt which were my sale bargain purchases, which I blogged about here. My jeans are from River Island and my handbag is Michael Kors, my Mum’s trousers are Reiss, Top is Hobbs and her sandals are from Dune.

Since I moved to Leeds, I haven’t had a weekend just with mum and dad so it was lovely to spend some quality time together, and an opportunity to take some photos which I can put up in the house.

Dad and I both ordered Skagen toast, something I’d never had before, but was a slice of seeded loaf, with prawn and crayfish in a crème fraiche and dill sauce. It was absolutely delicious, topped off with balsamic vinegar.

For main course, mum ordered prawn and crab linguine, in a sweet chilli sauce. She said it was the best linguine she had ever tasted, which from my mum is a massive compliment!

Dad and I are big shellfish fans, we both ordered half a lobster, dad had lobster thermidor…

…and I had mine with garlic sauce. It was absolutely beautiful and for £19.99, very reasonably priced.

We each had an Eton mess to finish our meal and it was gorgeous!
We headed home with very full tummies and mum and I watched ‘What to Expect When Expecting’, which dad took as an opportunity to have an early night. I love spending time with my parents, especially since leaving home and not seeing them every day. It just makes it more special.
Have you all had a nice weekend? Have any of you visited The Chevin?
