Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream – First Impressions

My good friend Kayleigh (from x-couturegirl-x) had the most gorgeous base on last weekend, and I was surprised to find out that it was Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream as it looked like a foundation.  I have perhaps wrongly assumed that a great looking base could not be achieved with the new fashionable ‘CC Creams’.   I decided to buy some for myself and see how my skin looked with this too.

I started off with a moisturised face and thought I’d apply it with my fingers, the consistency is very ‘runny’ so it felt like I was just moving the product around my face.  I decided to try with a foundation brush, and this worked a lot better.  The coverage isn’t great from a quick once over, but it is definitely build-able.  The redness in my cheeks was disguised after application, which is a massive plus point for me.

I was also very impressed with the longevity of this product, as several hours later, it remained in place.  I did use a little of my MAC select sheer pressed powder to set it, as it was far too dewy for my liking, even with my dry/combination skin.

After four hours I was shocked to see I had a tide mark around my jaw line.  The product had oxidised and left me with an orange ring around my chin and jaw line.  I hadn’t applied this any differently to my regular foundation, and I don’t usually suffer with such makeup mishaps, so I was very disappointed to see this.

I bought shade 31 ‘Ivory’ as this is the lightest shade, and the only other available in my local Boots was ‘Light Beige’ which was far too dark, which is the second lightest in the four shade range.  I’m definitely glad I didn’t go any darker with the oxidisation, or I’d have definitely looked tangoed!

My skin definitely stayed moisturised and the durability was great.  At £9.99 I don’t feel I’m out of pocket in comparison to the cost of my regular base.  I’m definitely going to give this another try and I think it would be great to wear to work, just as long as I ensure I’ve blended every last bit around my jawline!!

Have any of you tried Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream?
