As mentioned in My Body Update on Sunday, I will be following the DW Fitness 40 days of fitness challenge which coincides with Lent. If any of you would also like to take he challenge (beginner, intermediate and advanced options available) leave me a comment including your email and I will happily sent it on to you.
For my first day the challenge is 20 mins of walking/jogging/running, at lunch I went for a 25 minute walk and this evening I have been to the gym. I did 20 mins of walking/jogging on the treadmill then another 6 mins on the cross-trainer just to try and tire myself out!
I’ve never been one to abstain from anything for the duration of Lent- I’m not religious so have never felt compelled to. This year is different. I’m on a mission to get fit and healthy and anything I can use to motivate me will be used!
I’m therefore also giving up chocolate, crisps, my caramel popcorn and any other sugar/salt infested snack.
Today at work two homemade cakes were brought in and I’m proud to say that I didn’t give in to temptation! First hurdle crossed!
